About Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells MVP

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Maternity Voices Partnership is a committee made up of service users (ie mums, dads, carers), service user representatives, midwives, doctors and commissioners. We work together to review and contribute to the development of local maternity services. We are an independent body, reporting to the LMS (local maternity system) and the CCG (clincial commissioning group).

The committee meets quarterly at either Tunbridge Wells Hospital, Maidstone Birth Centre or Crowborough Birth Centre. Service user reps meet more frequently to review and plan projects and to gather feedback from women and their families in the community. Feedback is also gained through online surveys on specific areas, via our Facebook page and by ‘walking the patch’ on our postnatal wards.

When we collect feedback we are interested in hearing in all women’s experiences of maternity care. We ask women to tell us:

  • What was good about the care you received?
  • What, if anything, wasn’t as good?
  • What ideas do you have for improvements?

We don’t deal with individual complaints, we look for themes in feedback and for ideas to make improvements. We are keen to hear from anyone who would like to get involved as a user rep, anyone who has used local maternity services is welcome.

We’d love to hear from you via email at mtw.mvp@gmail.com
